You put people in a crowded prison,

humiliate them daily, kill their youth,

call them animals, half starve them,

imprison them, pull down their homes,

desecrate their religion, deny them an

economy, flaunt your wealth and privilege,

and then,

when they explode in hopeless anger

and grief, you increase the terror…

It used to be called sadism.
